It seems simple enough, you live in Canada and you want a provider who'll allow you to use an area code that works for you. Well not all of them do. Below is a list of providers who have access to Canadian area codes or give toll free numbers to Canadians free of charge. We'll also be making note of which is which in case you have a preference.
MetroFax - TOLL FREE NUMBER
MetroFax was given our top rating for business services but this may be one of their weaknesses if you are a Canadian business. If you don't care to have a local number and a toll free number works well then they're still a fantastic choice but if you would prefer a local number then you may want to keep looking.
MyFax - LOCAL NUMBERS
MyFax provides thorough access to local numbers across Canada. If this is important to you, they're easily our pick with services starting at just $10/mth.
Nextiva - LOCAL NUMBERS
Nextiva has greatly improved their offerings
lately and is an up-and-coming contender for our "Best With Local Numbers". We're just playing a bit more with some of their features but they're definitely going to beat myFax for larger-scale operations sending large numbers of faxes.
SmartFax - TOLL FREE NUMBER
Similar to MetroFax, MyFax provides a toll free number to Canadians. They are great for smaller usage with pricing from $6.95 but only includes 250 pages incoming and outgoing.
RapidFax - TOLL FREE NUMBER
RapidFax has basically the same offerings ag SmartFax with 50 additional pages however their pricing is $3/mth higher.
RingCentral - TOLL FREE NUMBER
RingCentral offers toll free numbers but we weren't blown away by their offerings or service.
eFax - TOLL FREE NUMBER
These are our least favorites of the fax
