How do I choose a provider?

Most providers will offer different packages so having a rough idea of how many faxes you send per month can help in deciding which package is going to best suit your business needs. Often if you exceed the amount of pages included in your package you will be charged extra for the additional pages

How do I send an internet fax?

  • 1. First, create a new email message.
  • 2. In the To: box, enter the 10-digit fax number of the recipient, including area code, followed by @faxprovidername.com (for example, 5552345678@faxprovidername). generally you do not need to include anyother prefix such as 1 or 9.
  • 3. To create a fax cover page, type your message in the body of the email message. If no cover page is necessary, leave the body blank.
  • 4. Attach any file(s) you want to fax.
  • 5. Click Send.

How do I receive a fax?

When someone sends a document to your fax number, your provider automatically delivers it to your email Inbox as a new email message. The fax will arrive as a .PDF or .TIFF attachment. Please note that .PDF files genrally require adobe reader to be viewed.

Can I keep my current fax number?

Yes. Most online fax providers will let you keep your existing fax number.

What equipment/software do I need to use an online fax service?

All you need is a valid email address and a and an account with the provider of your choice. No additional software or equipment is necessary.

Are there any advertisements included with my faxes?

This greatly depends on the service you choose. Most free providers will include an advertisement that is sent before your cover page. If you subscibe to a paid service ther are no advertisements.

Can I send multiple documents when I send a fax?

Yes. You can send multiple pages by adding them as attachments, although some providers do set a limit to how many pages you may attach.

Will online faxing work with a Mac?

This question requires further investigation. Although, most services say that they are Mac freindly, the forums say otherwise. Soon we will have some feed back for Mac users
